AMiA

The Anglican Mission in America (AMiA or TheAM)

From a bold beginning in Singapore, the Anglican Mission was born when key leaders of the Anglican Church in Africa and Asia responded to a crisis of faith and leadership in the western church, establishing the Anglican Mission as a groundbreaking intervention.

Since 2000, the AMiA has broken into new territory through planting churches as well as receiving existing congregations.  The AMiA is sponsoring specific initiatives to reach Hispanic and Asian communities and concentrating efforts throughout the West and among urban populations to reach the 130 million un-churched and spiritually disconnected people in North America.  What began as just a handful of churches in the year 2000 reached over 130 congregations by 2007 and in 2010 is now 153 churches … and still growing.

As a missionary outreach of the Province of the Anglican Church of Rwanda, the AMiA enjoys the oversight of the Rwandan House of Bishops. This global connection is a close partnership of mission and ministry fueled by a shared passion and vision for reaching those outside the church in the US and Canada. What Does it Mean to be Anglican?

Practically, Anglican Christianity is rooted in the ancient faith and practice of the first century church and developed in the English Reformation. Driven by a missionary focus, Anglicanism has been about the work of making disciples for over 500 years and has expanded into a global church.

A rich worship experience is a key ingredient of our Anglican heritage. We embrace an interactive liturgy and emphasis on the sacraments of Baptism and Communion (or the Lord's Supper) instituted by Jesus himself.

If you are looking for authentic worship, a relational community and a commitment to reaching out to the world around you, we invite you to join us at Church of the Resurrection on Sunday mornings at 9:30am.  You can read more about our Sunday Worship here.
