In 2008, Rev. Dr. Bill Steinberg, having been an ordained Minister for 20
years, announced he was leaving the Episcopal Church to form a new congregation
in Fuquay-Varina under the leadership of the Anglican Mission in the Americas
(AMiA). Steadfastly committed to the authority of Scripture, Rev. Steinberg was drawn by the Three Steams of the
AMiA: Scripture, Sacred, and Spirit, while also attracted by the commitment to
the global Mission as it originated from Rwanda. The AMiA provided the leadership under which the congregation
could remain connected to the worldwide Anglican Communion, retaining the
ancient history and liturgy of the Anglican church, while authentically
worshiping and boldly teaching God’s Word. Claiming the new life that Jesus promises to all those who
believe, The Church of the Resurrection was born.
Therefore, at The Church of the Resurrection,

Directly connected to the
Anglican Church in SouthEast Asia and Rwanda. The Anglican Mission in America (AMiA or theAM) was born when
key leaders of the Anglican Church in Africa and Asia responded to a crisis
of faith and leadership in the western church, establishing the Anglican
Mission as a groundbreaking intervention. As a missionary outreach of the Province of the Anglican
Church of Rwanda, theAM enjoys the oversight of Archbishop-Elect Onesphore
Rwaje of Rwanda and the Rwandan House of Bishops.
