Inside Our Congregation

Our ministries are an important and integral part of our church community. As a growing congregation, ministries and opportunities to connect with others and serve are always forming and changing. Below are the main areas of ministry in which our congregation is currently serving one another inside our body of fellowship.

Adult Education

Please join us at 6:00pm Thursday evenings (immediately following the Mid-Week Service) for a potluck supper and an hour of Adult Bible study led by Senior Pastor Bill Steinberg. For more information, please contact Rev. Bill Steinberg.

Healing Prayer Ministry

Each Sunday morning, we provide an opportunity for those who wish to do so to present themselves for prayers for healing immediately following Holy Communion. Though it was forgotten for a while, or subsumed under the ministry known as Last Rites, healing prayer has a long tradition in the Church. It is one of the historic Sacraments of the Church, and that is the foundation for our Prayer Ministry at CTR. Though no one will be forced to participate, all CTR members are encouraged to present themselves to receive prayer for healing whenever the need arises. For more information about the Healing Prayer Ministry, please contact Patty Bordwell.

“Heavenly Helpers” Meals Ministry

“Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” (Romans 12:13)  This ministry exists to serve and bless members of our Church body who are experiencing illness, hospitalization, or death in their family. Our “Heavenly Helpers” sign up either cook or deliver meals on an as needed, rotating basis.  Please contact Nancy Williams or Nancy Reeser for more information or to submit the name of someone you know who may need to receive a meal.

Parish Life

Enjoying time together and building authentic relationships is integral to how we show Jesus’ love to one another.  Once a month, our church family gathers together for a fun, fellowship activity planned by the Parish Life Committee.  Please watch the bulletin and the church calendar for updates on these activities.

Another aspect of church fellowship are Supper Clubs.  Supper clubs are exactly what they sound like - groups of 8 who meet regularly for social get-togethers over a meal!  Plans are made within the groups and new groups are starting regularly.

For more information about Parish Life, please contact Carlos Vargas.

REZKIDZ Children’s Ministry

Each Sunday, children age 4K-5th grade are invited to join us for REZKIDZ – a special time of fun, sharing, and Bible study just their size!  The kids and leaders are dismissed just prior to the sermon and will return in time for Offertory and Communion.  For the 2011-2012 school year, we are using All-in-One Sunday School from Group Publishing as the backbone of our REZKIDZ curriculum.  Through lessons, games, drama, and music, we are learning God's Word together and how to apply it to our lives!  For more information about REZKIDZ, click here or contact Julie Armstrong.

REZ Men

The RezMen meet for breakfast at 7:30am every Wednesday and one Saturday morning of each month.  They also meet on the fourth Tuesday evening of each month for dinner, fellowship, prayer, and planning.  The RezMen sponsor Three Cord groups, triads of men who covenant to stay in regular contact for support and accountability. The group also conducts fund-raising and outreach activities throughout the year to support our local needy families at Christmas with food baskets.  For more information about REZMEN, please contact Carlos Vargas.

Small Groups

Authentically sharing and showing Jesus’ love is a hallmark value of CTR.  In a growing church family, it becomes increasingly important to study God's Word in Small Groups and to engage in friendship, service and support.  There are already several Small Groups meeting regularly.  For more information about joining or establishing a Small Group, please contact our Small Group Coordinator, Maurice Hagar.

Sound Team

The Sound Team is an ironically “quiet” ministry, serving in the background on Sunday mornings, arriving early to setup sound equipment and ensuring quality sound, including recordings, for Sunday worship.  If you are interested in serving with the Sound Team, please contact Mike Armstrong.

Sunday Morning Ministries

Sunday Morning Ministries include preparing the altar for Worship and Communion, providing altar flowers and serving light finger-foods for Coffee Hour following the service.  If you are interested in serving with Sunday Morning Ministries, please contact Christine Pease.

“The RATL” Youth Ministry

Our Middle School/High School Youth Ministry have started a new school year and a new year of fun, fellowship, and learning in God’s Word together!  Meeting on Monday evenings from 6:00-8:30pm, we are investing in our relationships with one another while looking into the Scripture together to see how it applies to us … NOW … in our schools, in our friendships, and in our families.  Students in grades 6-12 are invited to join us and bring a friend!  For more information, click here or contact Eric and Susie Olson.

Worship Team

The Worship Team provides the musical structure and leadership for our Sunday morning worship each week.  Currently, we lead with keyboard and vocals, though we pray to add additional instrumentation as the Lord provides it.  If God has gifted you musically and you desire to serve Him with your gifts, please contact Julie Armstrong.

Please contact us if you have any questions about our ministries or would like to know about other opportunities to serve our community that may not be listed here.
